You know, if Edward Cullen lives in my country, he'd be in jail right now. You know that times when he watches Bella sleep? Totally a crime. Under Section 5, paragraph H, number 2 of the Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, it is stated that:
Peering in the window or lingering outside the residence of the woman or her child;
is an act of violence against women and their children. Granted, Bella is not a mother then, but it still applies. The best part? The crime committed is punishable by
prision mayor (i.e., a six-year-and-one-day to twelve-year imprisonment), plus a fine of not less than PHP100,000 but no more than PHP300,000 (that's around $2,000 and $6,250, respectively) AND the perpetrator must "undergo mandatory psychological counselling or psychiatric treatment and shall report compliance to the court".
Reading that totally amused me.
Then again, he could just dazzle his way out the prison, much to everyone's chagrin.
